Four Homes Impacted by Major Fire Near Honeoye Lake

Firefighters respond to a major house fire in Richmond, New York, which impacted four homes near Honeoye Lake.

A large fire near Honeoye Lake on Sunday morning destroyed two homes and damaged two others, prompting a massive response from area fire departments.

Richmond Fire Department crews were dispatched around 8:10 a.m. to the east side of Honeoye Lake, near Trident Marine, where they found one home fully engulfed in flames and another with heavy fire on the second floor. A total of ten fire departments responded to the scene to help battle the multi-structure blaze.

Despite extensive damage, firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Two of the four homes involved are considered total losses, while the other two sustained only minor damage.

Two of the homes were occupied at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Fire Chief Jessica Miller reported the cause of the fire remains under investigation by Ontario County Emergency Management.
