Fire Destroys Barn in Wayne County

Investigators are still looking into what caused a fully involved barn fire in Wayne County Thursday night.

When firefighters arrived on the scene just after six Thursday night, they worked on protecting the homes nearby and started fighting the fire. No injuries were reported.

The Ontario Fire Company was assisted on the scene by Lincoln Fire Rescue, Williamson Fire Company #1, Webster Volunteer Fire Department, Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad, Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne County Fire Coordinators office, and the Town of Ontario Highway department. Pultneyville Fire and Water Rescue covered the Ontario Fire District until almost midnight while the Ontario Fire Department remained on the scene.
