The FBI is investigating a threat aimed at the Waterloo School District.

The federal agency was notified early Tuesday morning about a “suspicious and possible threatening comment” made on social media that was traced back to a home located within the Waterloo school district.  The FBI and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence and determined there was no immediate threat to the school district or general public.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Waterloo School District and Waterloo Police Department assisted in the investigation.
