Emergency Landing: Mercy Flight Helicopter Encounters Malfunction in Canandaigua

A Mercy Flight helicopter experienced a “malfunction” while in the air Thursday, resulting in a hard landing.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports it happened just after 8 o’clock at the Mercy Flight facility on Brickyard Road in Canandaigua. The helicopter was returning from a call when an unknown malfunction occurred. All three people onboard were able to escape safely.

The investigation is ongoing.
