A Junius man was rescued by emergency personnel after his car went off the road and into a pond in Wayne County.
John Valder told police he was driving north on Gansz Road in Galen just before 8 Friday morning when he allegedly lost control of his car, went off the road and and drove into a pond. Valder told 911 dispatchers he couldn’t get out of the car as it was beginning to fill with water. Law enforcement were able to use a safety throw rope to help the 66-year-old get out of the car.
Valder was taken to Newark Wayne Community Hospital as a precaution.
