Driver Suffers Broken Back, Sternum in Canandaigua Raceway Crash

The driver of a Modified style race car suffered broken bones after being involved in an accident Saturday night at the Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Gilbert Tegg, Junior, was traveling into Turn 3 when his racecar went head on into an orange protective barrier. The impact caused the racecar to flip end-over-end twice. The 53-year-old Rochester man was extricated from the race car and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
