Driver Airlifted After Serious Crash in Wayne County

Police in Wayne County say a man is hospitalized after being involved in a one-car accident on State Route 88 in Sodus.

Deputies are still trying to figure out why the car Billy Davis was driving early Monday afternoon went off the road, struck a ditch, causing the car to become airborne, strike a tree with its roof before landing back on the road. Davis was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight for what police described were “major injuries.”

Davis was the only person in the car when the accident happened.

Deputies were assisted at the scene with the investigation by the Sodus Fire Department, the Wallington Fire Department, and Wayne County Ambulance WN6.
