Deputy McCabe Retires from Ontario County Sheriff’s Office After 50 Years

After fifty years with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy “Sarge” Mike McCabe worked his final shift this week.

According to the department, McCabe started with the sheriff’s office as a road patrol deputy in 1973 and was promoted to Sergeant in 1986. In 2005, McCabe retired from full-time status and has worked part-time in the Background Investigation Unit since his retirement from full-time status.

Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. McCabe served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps.
