An electrical issue with a dehumidifier is believed to have caused a house fire in Seneca Falls on Sunday morning.

When firefighters arrived at 2908 East Bayard Street just after 9 o’clock, they reported seeing smoke and flames in the basement. Seneca Falls, Waterloo, and Fayette firefighters worked together to put out the blaze.

No injuries were reported. Due to very limited fire damage, the residents were allowed to stay in the home.

North Seneca Ambulance also responded to the scene as did the Seneca Falls Police Department.
