COs Dispatchers Complete Training Courses

Corrections Officers and 911 dispatchers from across the Fingerlakes celebrated Friday after graduating from their respective training courses.

13 Corrections Officers from Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates Counties completed the nine-week basic course held in Ontario County. During the 340 hours of training time, officers covered a variety of topics including supervision and care for the incarcerated, physical fitness, defense, and firearms training.

Nine dispatchers from Ontario, Livingston, Wayne, and Yates Counties also completed a two-week emergency communications course on Friday. The course focused on handling emergency calls, radio transmissions, dispatching critical incidents, legal issues, and more.
