Canandaigua Traffic to be Counted by Camera

The New York State Department of Transportation (Region 4) will be placing temporary traffic counters throughout Canandaigua during the week of September 27 through October 4.

These counters, which include camera setups, help DOT collect traffic volume data to monitor patterns and improve transportation planning. The devices will be installed early in the week and removed no later than Sunday, October 5, typically by Friday.

Locations in the Town and City of Canandaigua include:

  • Parrish Street (West St – S Pearl St)

  • West Street (Corp Limits – Bristol St)

  • Lake Breeze Way (West Ridge Run – Dead End)

  • Ashton Place (Bedford Dr – CR 16)

  • Hopkins Road (CR 32 – US 20)

  • Rossier Road (Woolhouse Rd – NY 21)

  • Sammys Way (White Cliff Dr – End Loop)

  • Silvernail Drive (Middle Cheshire Rd – Dead End)

  • White Cliff Drive (Acorn Hill – Rileys Run)

  • Telyea Street (S Pearl St – Adelaide Ave)

  • Park Meadow Lane (Middle Cheshire – White Cliff Dr)

  • Canandaigua Bridge (Hickox Rd – NY 21)

The DOT asks drivers to use caution and be aware of the equipment while traveling in these areas and thanks the community for their patience during this important data collection effort.
