Canandaigua City Council and the Canandaigua City School District have approved a new three-year agreement to continue the School Resource Officer (SRO) program through July 31, 2028.

Under the deal, the school district will increase its share of the cost for the full-time SRO from 50% to 60%, and has requested the addition of a second part-time officer. The district will continue to cover 100% of the cost of the existing part-time SRO.  The full-time SRO also serves as the city’s youth officer.

The current agreement is set to expire on August 1.
