Canandaigua City Council will fill the at-large City Council seat that was vacated two months ago when it meets Tuesday night.

Douglas Merrill will serve until the end of next year and will have to seek election in November of 2024 if he wants to serve the final year of Renee Sutton’s term. Sutton stepped down from the seat in July. Merrill is a professor emeritus at RIT.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 8 p.m.
