An ambulance responds to an emergency at night, its lights blurring with motion.

A Bloomfield man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in the town of Canandaigua on Thursday afternoon.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 32 and Hopkins Road. Deputies say 17-year-old Clayton Premo of Springwater was driving northeast on County Road 32 when he lost control of his GMC Sierra after hitting a snow drift that had blown across the roadway. The truck fishtailed, and Premo overcorrected, crossing into the oncoming lane and colliding with a Subaru Forester driven by 61-year-old Allan Hannold of Bloomfield.

Hannold was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance for back, elbow, and leg pain. Premo was not hurt.

Deputies issued Premo a citation for failing to keep right. The road was closed for a time as crews investigated and cleared the scene.
