A sanitary manhole cover, like this one, represents the vital infrastructure receiving state funding for improvements in Finger Lakes communities.

Several area communities will share in the $3.3 million awarded to municipalities across the state by the Environmental Facilities Corporation through Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grants.

Governor Kathy Hochul made the announcement that the funding would support 59 sewer projects in New York

“Every New Yorker deserves access to clean, safe water, and we’re making that happen by investing in smart, affordable infrastructure upgrades,” Governor Hochul said. “From planning to construction, we’re supporting communities every step of the way so families across the state can count on reliable water systems for years to come.”
