State environmental officials have issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Friday, due to elevated levels of fine particulate matter.
The advisory is in effect until 11:59 p.m. for the Adirondacks, Eastern Lake Ontario, and Western New York regions. The Eastern Lake Ontario region includes northern Cayuga, Jefferson, Monroe, Oswego, and Wayne counties.
Officials urge sensitive groups — including children, the elderly, and those with heart or lung conditions — to limit strenuous outdoor activity during the advisory period.
