Four members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to participate in National Police Week ceremonies honoring law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
Representatives from both the Sheriff’s Office Corrections Bureau and Law Enforcement Bureau attended events recognizing fallen officers from across the country.
During the trip, the group also visited the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial to honor members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office who lost their lives while serving the community.
In a statement, Sheriff David Cirencione said National Police Week serves as an important time to recognize the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of law enforcement professionals.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office members who attended included Correction Officer Daniel Russell, Correction Sergeant Raymond Guck, Road Sergeant Payton Francher, and Deputy Reilly Burke.
