State Police arrested a Naples man following an investigation into a domestic incident at a residence on Cold Springs Road in the town of Bath.

Troopers responded to a 911 report of a disturbance involving a shovel and learned that Brendan Miller, 21, allegedly engaged in a domestic dispute with a female victim, during which he physically assaulted and threatened her. The investigation determined that Miller also damaged property inside and outside the residence, including a pickup truck, and unlawfully entered an occupied dwelling while armed with a shovel.

Miller was located a short time later on Cold Springs Road and taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Miller was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony; second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony; second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor; endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor; and second-degree harassment, a violation.

Following processing at the Bath barracks, Miller was transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
