A Penn Yan man is facing felony charges after allegedly firing multiple weapons during a disturbance in the Town of Jerusalem.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Tuesday to a reported residential disturbance on Pineview Drive.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that 33-year-old Theodore Courtney was involved in a physical altercation with another man. Deputies allege that after the two men physically disengaged, Courtney retrieved a handgun and a rifle from his residence.
Investigators say Courtney then discharged both firearms in the direction of the other man.
Courtney was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a firearm. He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
The Sheriff’s Office said additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
