The United Way of Seneca County is preparing for its annual “Taste of Spring” fundraiser, set for May 28 at Del Lago Resort & Casino.

Executive Director Rhonda Jasper says the event has become one of the organization’s signature annual fundraisers, highlighting local food, drinks, and community partnerships across the Finger Lakes.

“I feel like here at United Way Seneca County, we really function on two seasons. We have campaign season, and we have Taste of Spring season,” Jasper said.

This year’s theme, “Cruising the Finger Lakes,” will feature vendors set up as themed “ports of call,” showcasing a variety of regional offerings including wine, beer, spirits, food, desserts, and coffee.

Jasper says the event will take place in the buffet space just off the gaming floor at Del Lago and will include a wide range of local vendors and community partners.

Taste of Spring is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and organizers say tickets are still available through the United Way of Seneca County’s website or by calling the office.

Following Taste of Spring, the organization’s next major event will be “Walking With Hope in the Heart of the Finger Lakes,” scheduled for Sunday, June 7. The event supports the Seneca County Suicide Coalition and focuses on mental health awareness and prevention efforts.

Jasper emphasized the importance of community support and awareness around mental health challenges, noting that resources such as 211 and 988 are available locally for those in need of support.
