One Cayuga County-based museum is having a birthday party to celebrate a milestone achievement.

The Ward O’Hara Agricultural and Country Living Museum is celebrating 50 years of operation. To mark the occasion and celebrate how the museum has grown over half a century, the museum is holding a birthday celebration on Sunday, September 21.

Doors open at 10:00a. There will be a brief program at 1:30p followed by a cake cutting at 2:00p. Throughout the day, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides, Model T rides, and special presentations throughout the museum.

The museum traces its origin back to 1975, when Ward O’Hara converted a picnic shelter into the Cayuga County Agricultural Museum. The museum was named in honor of O’Hara in the late 1990s.
