Victims of Fatal Auburn Fire on New Year’s Eve Identified

The two people killed in a house fire last week in Auburn have been identified.

According to police, 72-year-old Vincent Tassone Sr and 68-year-old Nancy Tassone were killed as a result of the fire that occurred on New Year’s Eve at the property located at 12-14 Foote Street. The two were residents of the downstairs unit at 12 Foote Street.

The call for the fire came in just after 2:00a with firefighters responding quickly and bringing the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. Despite efforts by crews, the building was destroyed by the blaze.

An investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing
