UPDATE: Dog Dies in Auburn House Fire

Firefighters were able to rescue two people from a house fire in the city of Auburn on Monday.

The three alarm fire at the two-and-a-half story home at 163 North Street was called in at around 1:30. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the left side of the home when they arrived. Auburn’s Engine Company 4 was able to rescue two of the residents from the porch roof.

No injuries were reported but one dog died in the fire.

North Street was closed from Standart Ave to Lansing Street, according to the Auburn Fire Department.
