UPDATE: Auburn Approves Haines as Next City Manager

5:40 P.M. UPDATE:  As expected, Jennifer Haines was appointed as the city of Auburn’s next city manager.  Haines will be the first-ever woman to hold the position when she takes over from Jeff Dygert on July 1st.  Thursday’s vote was 5-0

A long-time Auburn City employee will be appointed tonight as the next city manager.

The Citizen reports that the director of planning and economic development, Jennifer Haines, will be appointed tonight by the Auburn City Council.

Haines will be the first woman to hold the position, she has worked for the city since 1993.

She will succeed Jeff Dygert as city manager. Dygert will retire when his contract expires at the end of next June.
