The monument for Harriet Tubman Davis in Auburn, New York, honors her legacy as a heroine of the Underground Railroad and Civil War nurse.

The new coin set honoring a local abolitionist is almost here.

The Harriet Tubman commemorative five-dollar, one-dollar, and half-dollar coins will be available for purchase on January 4. The US Mint will sell 50,000 five-dollar gold coins, 400,000 one-dollar silver coins, and 750,000 half-dollar coins.

Proceeds from the sale of the coins will benefit both the Harriet Tubman Home in Auburn and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
