The deadline to nominate a Cayuga County volunteer for a chance to win $1,000 is fast approaching.
Nominations for Unity House’s Fred Atkins Community Service Award are due by Thursday. Nominations must be submitted to Kelly Buck, Director of Marketing & Development. Nomination forms can be found here.
The award recognizes volunteers in Cayuga County who act as role models, demonstrating integrity, compassion, and leadership.
Now in its 15th year, the award is named in honor of Frederick J Atkins, a volunteer in the county and 30-year Unity House board member. Atkins passed away in 2009. Following his passing, family and community members donated to establish the award and accompanying prize.
