Cayuga County commuters in Throop may soon need to plan a new route as work is slated to begin on a local bridge.

Town Supervisor Eric Ridley announced on Facebook that the county has informed the town that the bridge on Turnpike Road west of State Street Road will be temporarily closed for repairs beginning on Monday.

Repairs are expected to last approximately two weeks. Drivers are asked to follow marked detours during that time and plan alternate routes.

Ridley added that updates will be announced as they become available.
