A special celebration on Monday will celebrate the reopening of the Southern Cayuga Planetarium’s Dome Room.

The room has undergone months of renovations, including new paint, decor, seating, carpeting, and instructional equipment, to provide a modern and immersive experience to both Southern Cayuga School District students and the community.

To mark the occasion, the planetarium, located at 2384 NY-34B, Aurora, will hold an open house from 5:30-6:30p. As part of the open house, a short movie will be shown every 15 minutes on the history of space exploration.

The district said the reopening “marks an exciting new chapter for STEM education at Southern Cayuga.”
