The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is helping raise funds for Special Olympics New York.

Members of the sheriff’s office will be at the downtown Auburn Dunkin Friday morning to collect donations as part of the Go For Gold Fundraiser to support Special Olympics New York.

The sheriff’s office is no stranger to supporting the Special Olympics with Sheriff Brian Schenck and his deputies participating in the Polar Plunge fundraiser held annually on Oneida Lake.

Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio, Schenck said it’s great to support such a worthy cause.

“I love the Special Olympics. I’ve participated in their Polar Plunge the last few years to help them raise funding and I’m always excited to help support their programs and fundraisers.”

Anyone donating will receive a free doughnut and those donating $25 or more will receive a free t-shirt.

Go For Gold will be held at Dunkin’s 2 E Genesee St location from 6:00-10:00a.
