If your commute involves driving in downtown Auburn, you may need to plan a new route.

The city has announced that a section of Dill Street will be closed immediately east of State St for emergency repairs on Wednesday and Thursday, with the road expected to reopen on Friday afternoon. Local traffic will be allowed on Dill St with access from the North St side.

During repairs, the CENTRO bus pick-up and drop-off area will temporarily relocate to the Owasco River side of Loop Rd.

Thursday will also see the beginning of NYSEG’s utility replacement work on the Genesee St bridge at Market St. According to the city, this project is expected to last three weeks and impact the area from Seminary Ave to Loop Rd.

The project includes digging on the east side of the bridge and connecting pipes running on the north and south sides. From there, the eastbound lane will be closed to replace the pipe crossing the bridge on the south side. Once the eastbound lane is reopened, the westbound lane will be closed so the north-side pipe can be replaced. The east and westbound closures will be repeated for final asphalt restoration.

During the project, two lanes of the bridge will remain open, allowing one lane of traffic to travel in each direction.
