A new law banning tractor-trailers and other vehicles over five tons from 27 town roads has been passed by the Skaneateles town board.

The local law targets roads in Skaneateles that primarily serve as connectors between state and county highways, and aims to reduce accidents and road wear in residential and rural areas.

A report by Syracuse.com stated exceptions to the law include delivery and agricultural vehicles.
