The Moravia Central School District has reached a separation agreement with Superintendent John Birmingham, marking the end of his tenure after nearly a decade of leadership.
The school board approved the agreement during a special meeting held on June 30. Board President Neil Stevens confirmed the decision to The Citizen but declined to disclose specific terms, citing confidentiality related to personnel matters.
Birmingham had been on an unexpected voluntary leave of absence since June 9. He had served as superintendent of the district since 2016.
The district has not yet announced plans for interim or permanent leadership moving forward.
