A display of personal care items for the United Way Personal Care Drive is set up at a Finger Lakes Daily News drop-off location in upstate New York.

Organizations and groups can register on Monday to take part in United Way of Cayuga County’s Eighth Annual Personal Care Drive.

Organizations, social groups, and youth groups can register beginning Monday to host a drop-off box for the drive. Groups can host a box for any length of time they choose, spanning the drive. This year’s drive begins on August 7 in conjunction with United Way’s Annual Day of Caring and ends on October 13.

Now in its eighth year, the drive collects personal care items such as shampoo, soap, shaving products, feminine products, toilet paper, deodorant, and diapers to distribute to food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters throughout the county.

To register a box, visit United Way’s website.

Last year, United Way raised 2,300 personal care items for the community.
