The Village of Cayuga is encouraging residents to attend a public hearing next week on proposed legislation affecting solar energy.

The proposed local law would enact a six-month moratorium on solar energy systems in the village. Last year, New Energy Equity, LLC, applied to construct a 3.66MW AC solar facility on approximately 22 acres of land within the village.

The comment period will run concurrently with the village board meeting for the proposed local law. The meeting begins at 7:00p on Wednesday, July 9.
