A partially frozen lake in the Finger Lakes region shows open water and footprints on the ice, related to a missing person investigation in Cayuga County.

Police have identified the man whose body was pulled from a lake in Cayuga County on Friday.

Tadeusz Urbanowicz was last seen on Sunday at his cottage on Cross Lake and was reported missing by his wife after he failed to return to their home in Penfield.

On Wednesday, search teams identified an area on the lake where it looked like a UTV may have broken through the ice. After an extensive search, Urbandowicz’s body was pulled from the water. Troopers believe he was riding a UTV when it went through the ice but the utility vehicle has not yet been recovered.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the New York State Police at 585-398-4100.  This is an ongoing investigation.
