NYSEG Looks to Upgrade Auburn Wright Ave. Substation

As the city of Auburn continues to support commercial and residential development projects that are providing jobs and housing opportunities within the community, electrical capacity for new development is significantly constrained. In a move that would help lower costs and reduce timeframes to obtain needed power, the city is backing a New York State Electric and Gas Corporation proposal to upgrade its Wright Avenue substation.

 

City Clerk Chuck Mason said NYSEG has already told the city there will be a need for additional investments in the electrical infrastructure with the expected impact the Micron facility in Clay will have on the region.  More on the project can be found below:
