Newark Man Killed in Cayuga County Accident

A Thanksgiving Day car crash in Cayuga County killed a Newark man.

Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that 49-year-old Arthur Wilferth was driving a Chevy Impala on Blass Road in the town of Conquest at around 3:35 p.m. when he drove off the road and struck a tree. Wilferth was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the car suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by EMS personnel.
