The application deadline for the civil service exam for Auburn firefighting positions is January 30. City Clerk Chuck Mason said the Civil Service process can be a bit complicated, so if you are interested, you should apply now.

“It’s not really something you can do real quick within the final hour of January 30th,” said Mason. “You really want to have a few days ahead so you can see everything that is involved with this process. Not only do you need to file for the exam, but then you need to prepare for the exam.”

The exam will be given on March 1st. Applicants must be at least 19 years old, a high school graduate, and have a driver’s license. To apply, you can go to the city of Auburn’s website
