A state grant will let Auburn keep the Casey Park pool open an extra week this summer.

The city will get $10,000 from Cayuga County’s share of a $25,000 NY SWIMS grant. The Auburn YMCA, which runs the pool, was set to close it on August 16, but under an amended agreement, it will now stay open through August 23.

The Citizen reports most of the county’s grant money will go toward the Emerson Park beach.
