During Women’s History Month, one local museum will celebrate women in the military.

Award-winning author Barbara Warner Deane will be at the Frontenac Museum in Union Springs to discuss the role of women in World War II, both in the military and on the homefront. That same day, the museum will also unveil a new exhibit celebrating local women who served in the military.

The free lecture begins at 2:00p on Sunday.

The museum added that, so far, it’s identified local 27 women who have served in the military from World War II to Afghanistan.
