A large tree blocks a residential street in the Finger Lakes region after a storm, with some limbs damaging parked vehicles in front of houses.

The City of Auburn is providing a special collection day to deal with debris from Tuesday’s wind storm.

Residents are asked to neatly stack debris on the curb in front of their homes, and clear of fire hydrants, cars, and telephone poles. Individual branches should be under eight feet in length.

The collection will begin Saturday at 7:00a. Crews hope to get through the entire city that day but it could take an extra day or two depending on the amount of debris.

The city adds that this collection event is weather-dependent and that too much snow will delay the event.

More information can be found on the city’s website.
