An upcoming rally in Auburn will shine a light on the status of equal rights in Auburn.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli will headline the Equal Rights for All event hosted by the Democratic Women of Cayuga County and the Cayuga County Democratic Committee. The rally will take a look at the status of women and members of the LGBTQIA community in the state and the importance of Proposal 1 appearing on the November ballot.

Proposal 1, often referred to as the NYS Equal Rights Amendment, is a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would include protections for abortion and LBTQIA rights. The public is encouraged to attend and learn more about these issues.

Other speakers at the event include Cayuga County Legislature Chair Aileen McNabb-Coleman, Past President of CNY NOW Mickey Belosi, State Senator Rachel May, and Rev Ben Fitzgerald-Fye.

Voter registration forms and information on voting by mail and absentee voting will also be available.

The event will take place at 2:00p on September 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn.  While everyone is welcome to attend, reservations are requested. RSVPs can be made by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
