County to Hold 3 E-Recycling Events, Registration Opens Fri. for Auburn Location

Registration opens Friday for Cayuga County’s annual Fall Electronics Recycling event taking place in Auburn.

The event will take place at Cayuga Community College from 8:30a-12:30p on October 18. Registration is limited to 650 people. Registration will be available on the county’s website.

Two other recycling events will take place the same day in the county – one at 2601 Ira Hill Rd in Cato and another at 2942 Long Hill Rd in Venice Center. They will run from 10:00a-1:00p. Registration is not required for these two events.

Below is a list of items that will and will not be accepted from the county.

Typically Accepted Items:

  • Computers & Accessories
  • Data Center Equipment
  • Mobile Devices
  • Office Equipment
  • Medical Equipment
  • Entertaining Equipment
  • And more

Not Accepted Items:

  • Devices Containing Mercury
  • Hazardous Waste
  • Devices Containing Refrigerant or Freon (A/C units, Dehumidifiers, etc.)
  • Broken CRT (tube) TVs or Monitors
  • Smoke Detectors & Other Radioactive Materials
  • Materials Containing Liquids
  • Devices Containing PCBs
  • Gas powered Equipment
  • Large Appliances
  • Common Household Batteries
  • CD’s, DVD’s, VHS tapes, and Cassette tapes
  • LED & CFL Light Bulbs
  • Vaping devices & E-Cigarettes
