Maple trees with sap collection buckets stand in a snowy forest, a common sight during the maple syrup season in upstate New York.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make maple syrup, you’re in luck.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County is hosting a backyard maple syrup workshop later this month at the Scipio Center Volunteer Fire Department. Attendees will learn about identifying maple trees, collecting sap, and turning it into syrup.

There is a $10.00 fee to attend the January 27 event and registration is required. Registration info can be found on the extension’s website.
