Weedsport residents still have time to give their feedback on the school district’s new mascot.
From a list of over 100 names, 30 were chosen for consideration, including the bulldogs, river otters, and shamrocks.
The district can no longer be the warriors as a decision by the New York State Education Department has banned any schools from using Native American names, logos, or imagery.
The deadline to provide feedback is September 29.
