The monument for Harriet Tubman Davis in Auburn, New York, honors her legacy as a heroine of the Underground Railroad and Civil War nurse.

The Cayuga Museum is launching a new walking tour series highlighting the final resting places of many famous Auburnians.

Every Saturday in October, the museum will offer tours of Fort Hill Cemetery, the historic site and home to the graves of such famous names as Theodore Case, William Seward, and Harriet Tubman. Tours will also focus on the hidden meanings behind common symbols found on graves.

Tours will run from 3:00-5:00p and begin near the Bradley Chapel cemetery entrance on Fort Street.

Reservations can be made on the museum’s website. Contact Geoff Starks at [email protected] or (315) 253-8051 for details.
