With less than three weeks remaining in 2024, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has investigated a half-dozen accidents this year that resulted in the deaths of seven people.

On Thursday’s FLX Morning, Undersheriff Stu Peenstra said two of the accidents involved cars going over 80 miles per hour and a few of the others were caused by drivers who failed to yield the right of way.

Peenstra said five of the fatal accidents the sheriff’s department has investigated this year were motor vehicle related and the sixth involved a snowmobile.  You can hear the full interview with Undersheriff Peenstra below.
