Cayuga County Reschedules Free Lead-Safety Course

The Cayuga County Health Department will host a free Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead Safe Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) training course. The full-day training session will take place Friday, Jan. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 7413 County House Road in Auburn.

The training was originally planned for Nov. 21, but has been rescheduled. Participants who complete the course and pass the required exam will earn EPA certification in practices designed to reduce lead exposure and create safer living environments.

The free course is open to a wide range of housing and construction professionals, including:

  • Residential rental property owners and managers
  • Landlords
  • General contractors
  • Maintenance staff
  • HVAC technicians
  • Painters
  • Plumbers
  • Carpenters
  • Electricians
  • Window installers
  • Roofers

Registration Required

Space is limited, and advance registration is mandatory. Interested participants must register by Jan. 21 by calling the Cayuga County Health Department at (315) 253-1560.
