New and expectant parents in Cayuga County are invited to a community baby shower later this month hosted by Cayuga Counseling Services’ Healthy Families program.

New in its second year, Tori Spane with the program told Finger Lakes News Radio that aside from being a time for new and expectant parents to celebrate the new additions to their families, the event will also serve to connect attendees with resources for their families.

“[Attendees] can expect to hear more about our program. There will be lots of community resources; we have someone basically from every other agency – Pregnancy Care Center, Department of Social Services, Cayuga County Health Network, the Playspace – so really any of those additional resources that would help benefit families if they need that additional support.”

Spane added that the event will also feature music, food, drinks, and free raffles, where participants earn tickets by meeting with partner agencies.

The community baby shower will take place from 11:00a-1:00p on Friday, May 16, at the Booker T Washington Community Center in Auburn. To register for the baby shower, contact Splane by calling or texting 315-916-5637.
