One person was killed in an early morning mobile home fire in Cayuga County.
Two men were inside the residence located at 12119 McNelly Road in Victory when the fire broke out shortly after 1. State Police say a 59-year-old man helped a 78-year-old man escape the fire uninjured. As the older man went to a neighbor’s to call for help, the 59-year-old went back inside the burning home and was unable to get out. His body was later recovered.
The investigation is ongoing. No names have been released.
